SURVIVORS SUPPORT

Understanding 5 Stages of Grief

Our Mothers OnA Mission38's Victim Advocates are dedicated to walking alongside victims' families during their most challenging moments. Our team provides compassionate support by offering immediate crisis intervention and continuous long-term assistance, whether in individual or group settings.

In times of emergency, our Victim Support team offers crisis counseling grounded in the 5 stages model. For victims affected by gun violence, domestic violence, or human trafficking, we collaborate closely with partner organizations to ensure they receive comprehensive support tailored to their needs.

Participants from Austin, West Garfield, Lawndale, and Englewood communities benefit from our program through bi-weekly support groups and individual counseling sessions facilitated by our Mental Health Therapist. Together, we provide a safe space for healing and empowerment.

RE - ENTRY

Embrace Life’s Challenges

Our Mothers OnA Mission28's Reentry program is meticulously crafted to guide participants through the transition into life beyond the justice system while concurrently reducing the likelihood of recidivism. Our approach is centered on equipping individuals with the tools to comprehend, regulate, and healthily express their emotions, while also fostering empathy and understanding towards others' emotions. By embracing an Emotional Intelligence framework, our program aids participants in unraveling generational patterns and recognizing how their surroundings shape their emotional responses and behaviors.

Through our program, participants not only cultivate essential skills for personal growth but also become catalysts for positive change within their communities. A significant aspect involves the development of Non-Aggression Agreements, particularly crucial for our potential Community Connector Staff. Monthly Re-entry circles provide a supportive space for individuals from Austin, West Garfield, Lawndale, and Englewood to gather, share experiences, and receive individualized support from our Reentry Specialist. Together, we're forging pathways towards brighter futures and stronger communities.

CASE MANAGEMENT

Guidance & Inspiration

Our Mothers OnA Mission28 provides comprehensive case management support grounded in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). Utilizing the ABCDE model, this approach is tailored to assist participants from Austin, West Garfield, Lawndale, and Englewood in navigating their journeys toward growth and stability.

Our holistic approach encompasses a wide range of resources and services, including continued education, mental health support, substance abuse counseling, anger management, nonviolence training, job readiness programs, and support/focus groups. Participants are guided through the process of setting and achieving SMART goals, empowering them to develop coping mechanisms, enhance resilience, and identify their support networks.

Structured over 10 months, our program offers weekly check-ins, engaging activities, and collaborative care planning between the participant and their dedicated Client Navigator. Through these competencies, we strive to empower individuals to overcome challenges, foster personal growth, and thrive in their communities.

MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING

Clinical Support

Our Mental Health Services are fundamental pillars of our mission, recognizing the vital role they play in the well-being of our community members. Through monthly support groups and individual sessions facilitated via our partnerships, we extend a compassionate hand to those navigating the aftermath of violence, trauma, and re-entry into society. We understand that mental health counseling isn't just beneficial—it's essential. It serves as a lifeline, offering solace, guidance, and tools for coping with adversity. By addressing the psychological effects of these experiences, we empower individuals to heal and rebuild their lives with strength and resilience.
